In Fall 2010, I began my Master in City and Regional Planning at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. After a highly focused undergraduate experience balancing real estate internships with finance coursework, I decided to pursue city planning to gain a more holistic approach to real estate and to traditional development practices. As a graduate student, I am looking to answer the following questions: How do we create culturally rich communities that offer economically and socially viable alternatives to unsustainable sprawl? How can development and redevelopment mutually benefit both current and future community members? How can supporters of infill developments promote economic, social, and environmental sustainability without forcing theory on communities?
Georgia Tech allows me to explore these questions at a theoretical level, but also gives me the practical skills to work out realistic solutions. |
